PAINT AND CERAMIC CLASSES

Have no fear. This introductory class will teach you how to paint, distress, and wax your furniture with beautiful results. This class is designed to get you comfortable with the basics before you take a brush to your own piece. You will get tips on when to use a sponge and when to use brushes. Various distressing and finishing techniques will be covered. Each participant will leave with a 10% off coupon for any Country Chic product. We guarantee that you will leave this class confident to tackle that next big project…be it your kitchen cabinets or bedroom dresser! Paint and supplies provided.

Do you love the look of painted furniture, but aren’t sure where to begin? There’s nothing like recreating an actual piece of furniture! Join us for this fun furniture painting workshop on how to create with Country Chic Paint. You will learn how to transform that eyesore into a beautiful piece of furniture you can be proud of. Bring your own small piece of furniture (or a cabinet door!) to paint in class. We supply the sponges, brushes, waxes, finishes and a large assortment of Country Chic paint colors to choose from.

In this class, you will learn how to:

  • Properly prepare your piece for a lasting, beautiful finish
  • Select color combinations and paint your piece using Country Chic Paint
  • Dry or wet distress your piece
  • Properly finish your piece with Country Chic Wax or Top Coat

Class sizes are limited (per COVID guidelines) and payment is needed to reserve your spot. We take all major credit cards and PayPal via our secure website, or you can call in your credit card number over the phone if you prefer.What You Need: To ensure that you can finish during the workshop, furniture size should not be larger than 36” tall or 36” wide (preferably wood). Examples would be a small wooden chair, end table or a night stand are perfect. If you do not have an appropriate piece of furniture, please let us know ahead of time and we will try to find a small and inexpensive piece of furniture for you. You must be able to carry your piece in and take it home with you. Please wear comfortable “painting” clothes.

PROJECT CLASS

Love stenciled signs? Painted frames distressed to look gorgeous? Layered look of painted glassware? Fabric the wrong color? Let us show you how to paint it! In this fun project class, we will teach you how to properly do the above. A variety of stencils to choose from and a wide range of paint colors to add dimension to your projects will be provided.

ADVANCED FINISH CLASS

Now that you have mastered the painting part, you are ready to move to that next level! It’s a wonderful place to be when you are ready to take your painting techniques to the next level! In our Advanced Finishes Workshop, you will learn how to manipulate the paint using several techniques and finishes. Basic Country Chic Workshop or significant experience using clay based paints is suggested prior to taking this class.

PRIVATE PAINT CLASS

Can’t make it to one of our scheduled paint workshops? There’s still hope! You can sign-up for a private paint lesson. Duration of a lesson typically lasts two to three hours and includes instruction in basic paint techniques including waxing and distressing. During your lesson, you will paint several small projects such as a small side table, picture frames or home décor. Cost is $125 for the first person and $80 for the second person (maximum of two people).

PRIVATE PARTY WORKSHOP

It’s a lot more fun to paint with friends! So, host your very own Paint Party at North Star Antiques hosted by LOUWSMA HOUSE DESIGN. Private & Personalized to your group’s needs, this workshop provides all materials, instructions to the needs of participants on how to paint, distress and wax furniture using your choice of paint colors, waxes, and glazes! Participants will bring their own item to paint…something small like a chair or small side table. Bachelorette Party, Bridal Shower, Moms Night Out…you name it! The $625 price includes up to 5 people, and all paint and supplies. Each additional person is $95.A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your date and the balance is due 72 hours prior to workshop date. Variations of this workshop can be made such as your private location - Home and/or size of furniture.

JR. PAINT ACADEMY

Calling all middle schoolers!



Jr. Paint Academy is for aspiring decorators, furniture refinishers and artisans between the ages of 10 and 14. This series of workshops will give kids the basic skills in decorating, coordinating color, and identifying interior design styles. Participants will complete a series of projects over the four-day academy including painting, distressing and waxing a chair, making a chalkboard from start to finish and completing a piece of artwork using a stencil. Academy dates are typically scheduled 2 days-a-week for 2 weeks. *Private Jr. Paint Academy classes can be scheduled for a minimum of five participants.
